Ryan Eaton is the host of this show and kicks off the first episode with the importance of setting a clear vision as a leader. Ryan brings us his thoughts from the TPA and brokerage angle since MWG is diversified across three. He is the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of these organizations as well as serving on the board of several domestic insurance companies.

What is Vision?

Vision is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom. So vision isn’t knowing the future or being able to predict exactly what will happen – vision is preparing for the future with wisdom while combining imagination.

A key component of leadership is setting the vision for your company, your team, or whatever group you are leading. Vision sets future expectations and gives you a path to run. It does not give you every detail, it does not provide you with the tools to fight every obstacle, but it lets you know what you are waking up to accomplish.

People Want To Follow A Leader That Pursues Dreams And Has A Passion for Why They Get Up In The Morning!

Lesson from Walt Disney Formation

1. Walt Disney had imagination. As a leader you must give people something that will inspire them to get up in the morning and fight for a purpose.
2. Walt Disney had a plan. Create a roadmap for your vision. It will probably have some detours buy you have to show your team the road so they can follow.
3. Walt Disney used wisdom. Use your core competencies to search for opportunities to do what you do better.

As leaders you are called to help bring people higher. Part of bringing people higher is imparting a vision that will drive your team to new limits, that will push them outside of their comfort zones so that you can experience the extraordinary! You do not have to know everything that will happen (no one does), but as a leader you are required to give a clear plan for where you are headed.
